A Christmas Memory
22 November, 2003

As I gaze out of my window
And watch the snowflakes fall,
My thoughts go back to my childhood.
A very special Christmas I recall
I asked Santa for a doll house,
But my expectations weren't very high.
I knew they were really expensive,
But just thought I'd give it a try.
My siblings and I always went,
To Gram and Gramps on the 24th of December.
Then they brought us home after an evening meal,
All this I so clearly remember
The tree was decorated, presents underneath.
Course we all acted very surprised.
In the corner on a table was a beautiful doll house.
I couldn't believe my eyes.
My Dad had made us so many toys,
All thru the long, lean years.
This precious gift my Dad made for me,
Just filled my eyes with tears.
