Always Remember

Too hard sometimes to know,
The one is which I loved so dear,
To remember that fateful day,
To coming true--my worst fear,
Thinking back, so often I do,
I remember your loving face,
The warmth in your sweet smile,
The care and such a loving embrace,
I try to forget, not feel sorrow,
To block out the memories of you,
To be painless for only a day,
Seems I never even make it through,
Our old house is for sale now,
The place your soul lay at rest,
I had seen you at your worst there,
I had also seen you at your best,
I miss our long nights of nintendo,
You were Bowser & always won,
I was princess & came in last,
No matter what we still had fun,
I remember the day you called me,
Our cat gave birth to her kittens,
You loved cats as much I did,
Man enough, you were smitten,
I remember your corny jokes,
And all the funny things you’d say,
Most of all of what I remember,
Is You--Each and Every Day...
------- Author's Notes -------
It's hard saying goodbye to the people that mean the most to you. Sometimes we take for granted the things we have, we need to cherish the people we truly love and let that be known. Just a few words of advice from a very real experience. |

Meridian (72.82.89.202) -- Wednesday, July 12 2006, 09:04 pm Hey Trina! I love your poem! I had to chuckle at the comment about who played Bowser in Princess in your poem. I remember a few poems on heartfelt tributes to your late dad, and this makes me become grateful by the day for my father. Even though we've had our falling out over the years, I can still say that he is one of those fathers that paid child support, stayed with his daughter through the most difficult times, and had some of the most unforgettable heart-to-heart talks with me... You are definitely right in your Author's Notes. You never know how much you miss a person until they're gone. So it is indeed imperative to express your love for them while they are yet still alive. Wonderful Trina, just wonderful! |
