Have You Ever

Have you ever felt your world slip away
Sat by yourself and counted the minutes in a day
Have you ever stared at the desert as the sky starts to rain
Wishing the water would wash your worries away
Have you ever watched a cigarette burn down to your fingers
Feel it burn your skin like the sorrow that lingers
Have you ever felt completely alone yet people surround you
Wonder how the pain can resonate all around you
So pack up your contradictions
That have caused my heart this affliction
Because there is nothing left to say
So just watch me errantly walk away
