A Day To Celebrate
4 August, 2006
author: Rebecca Ditch-Hammack (aka Dreamer)
Today we celebrate the birthday of a great man
He was not a president or statesman by trade
He did not move millions with his words of wisdom
Nor did he have any great claim to fame
He was humble in his achievements
Known to few; admired by many
He was a man of honor
Of humor, of strength
He was a provider, a carpenter
A brainstormer, a teacher of life
He was a troubleshooter, nurturer
A nature lover & star gazer
He could tell a good story and could listen with an open mind
A giver of guidance, understanding and love
He was not celebrity or famous in the least
But for what he was, is worth celebration and feast
And who was this great man I speak of
with such pride in my words
He was a great husband, and father and man
I was very fortunate to have called him my Dad
