Messed Up
7 August, 2006
Author: Booze
I have messed my life up
I have let both of you down.
The son you thought I was
Has not been seen in this town.
Lost trust, tears cried,
Words said, papers read
Nothing can fix this but time,
Broken hearts don’t heal on a dime.
One thousand apologizes will not
Help regain the trust I lost.
Too many lies said; I guess
I was too dumb to see the cost.
Lost trust, tears cried,
Words said, papers read
Nothing can fix this but time,
Broken hearts don’t heal on a dime.
Hearing the words ‘I love you’
Makes me feel better.
I can not tell you how much they mean
Through the sound of your voice I cherish every letter
Lost trust, tears cried,
Words said, papers read
Nothing can fix this but time,
Broken hearts don’t heal on a dime.
I am sorry for the lies I’ve said
Sorry for all the tears I made you shed
I patiently await the day again
When not only am I your son but you call me your friend.
