Sea Joy

The friendly waves soared toward the orange light
Of the lonely, midnight moon,
The ocean howled and trembled with fright.
I was sitting on the golden beach, watching this light,
But it was too late, so I went home without saying goodnight the moon.
The friendly waves soared toward the orange light,
Yearning to catch those sad clouds in white
While the comets whizzed back and forth to protect the moon;
The ocean howled and trembled with fright.
The turquoise stars glittered; they were so bright,
The auburn ones, sick and senile, rested in the cozy cocoon;
The friendly waves soared toward the orange light.
A ship dragged its feet along the horizon, this late at night,
Desperate to reach its port to rest and chat with the pretty moon;
The ocean howled and trembled with fright.
Summer returned to the nation, at the speed of light,
Hoping to stay to get to know the stars and moon.
The friendly waves soared toward the orange light,
And the poor moon was afraid she would lose her beautiful light.
