The Five Elements Of Life
18 August, 2006
Author: Andrew James Ball
I
Fire, the fighting force
Hot to the touch
Dazzling to the eyes
An uncontrollable power.
The taker of life
And the giver of warmth
Through which we survive the cold
And see in darkness.
II
Water, the healing force
Rejuvenating to the body
And southing to the soul
Everlasting and abundant.
The door through which life came
That covers the earth
And runs through land
Always changing.
III
Earth, the creative force
Giver of life
Forever growing
The Great Mother.
The balance between predator and prey
Always the interceptor
Never the watcher
The never-ending love.
IV
Air, the destructive force
Tearing down the old to create new
Soft or harsh to the touch
The fastest messenger.
Never ending power
That always changes
Constant in appearance
Though never seen.
V
Akasha, the eternal force
Father of time
Creator of all things
The elusive blackness in the sky.
Holding the sky within your hands
Looking down on earth
Eternal knowledge
Forever-unconditional love.
