Reach Beyond The Circles
20 August, 2006
Author: Mark Spencer
They say a circle represents
Our concept of eternity.
The circle and the figure eight
Are symbols of infinity.
Limited imaginations,
Sell misconceptions to our youth.
In vain attempts to sound as though,
They have a trade mark on the truth.
But the circles that they offer,
Intended only to distract,
Are based on ideologies,
Having nothing to do with fact.
For what is a circle, really?
It’s just a cycle that repeats.
Returning, each revolution,
To where the start and finish meet.
It better resembles a cage,
One that offers no destiny.
Only history repeating,
Overlooked by eternity.
For infinity is freedom,
From the shackles we’ve created.
It reaches beyond the circles,
Where we’ve never navigated.
And eternity asks only,
That we have the courage to seek.
Assuring we’ll find the answers,
If we are wise, faithful and meek.
For the proud maintain the circles,
And lure the blind into their cage.
Preaching science from a pulpit,
Just like performers on a stage.
Yet circles are but illusions,
They’re nothing more than a façade.
When you reach beyond the circles,
That’s when you’ll touch the face of God.
