Raven

Perched with grace, high above all
Peering down with a curl of a thin black lash
Black strands, streaking downward; black heart
Desire weakened, the past the start; fall

Her wing clipped, raven ravaged
Her flight stalled, raven spiraling
Her dreams shattered, raven harrowing
Her faith questioned, raven Oh raven!

The crest bare, lost without its grace
The skies close in, the raven in peril
What will become of this black beauty?
Wicked wound, deep, dark, scar, etched on her face.

Her fall softened, a hand extended
Her hopes risen, a hand resurrected
Her faith restored, Raven oh Raven!
Perched with grace, high above all.

------- Author's Notes -------

Dedicated to Desiree, for which I have found in her, a new friend. My hope is that she once again finds her crest and graces it with her beauty.--The Old Man
