Help Me Dad by Angel Laney

Hey Dad! Whaddya know!
I just got back from the wackyville show.
It wasn't a dream, it was oh so real!
I talked for hours with a purple seal!
There were cats doing back flips,
And donkeys packing for business trips.
Flies were singing opera on stages of broccolli
I saw a wild boar on a flying trampeze!
Oh what a sight!
Rainbow fish, in a boxing fight.
Now Dad, can you imagine what I thought,
When I saw a chicken, kissing a fox?!
My, my, my
I pinched myself, and poked my eye
But all I did was cry
And backed up a bit,
when seven crododiles tap danced by.
After awhile, I said, "Now, that's it!"
I can't have this silliness going on
This has to stop
But those birds, they kept playing ping-pong
And the frogs flew, while the butterflies hopped
I've seen a dragonfly, but not a frog!
And who ever heard of a circus hog?

Angel, as I read this poem it was like a revelation came to me! I see your imagination playing like a clown in a circus world. This is writing that shines like light in an increasingly dark world. It dances out like playful flames before me. It is FUN-NAY, it is happy, it is creative, it is GOOD! It is a pleasure to read something that is a reminder of free-wheeling fun and the joy of spontaneous poetry filled with humor. Once again you have revealed something of yourself courageously. Your wacky brain! I also found it VERY interesting that you threw your DAD in there with the mix of creatures at the Wackyville show! Thank you for the laughter and smiles this poem brings! Very entertaining! Oh, did I mention that I LOVE IT? Ha! Ha! Haaaaa!.....Dad
