Slow Down My Dear
30 August, 2006
Author: Charmaine
Maybes, what ifs, I suppose.
What's the point in wondering so?
Life's too short, there's just no time,
Move on my dear, don't linger so.
Pick up your pace and hurry up,
Time waits for no one, not even you.
Quit dragging your feet, there's no time to waste.
Life's a race, you must be first!
***
Slow down my dear, don't hurry so.
Come sit by me, we'll watch the world go by.
Look at the rain pattering down the panes,
Don't you wish you could go out and play?
Look at those sunflowers in full bloom,
Their colors so bright and full of life.
See that butterfly prancing around,
Don't you wish you could learn to fly so?
***
No time my dear, there's just no time!
I have work to do and bills to pay!
***
Please my darling, please slow down.
Open your eyes and look around.
Life is so much more than running a race,
Please slow down now before it's much too late.
***
Too late for what, what's wrong my love?
***
I'm sick my dear, I'm dying soon.
