Turn not your face the other way.
Let not the mad thing to it's prey.
That in reflection, you not see
a face you shall call...... enemy.
------- Author's Notes -------
This could be taken as a warning to people not to ignore racial, ethnic, and religeous hatred. Selfish mad-men (like Hitler) have exploited these human weaknesses to the horror of humanity. Pseudo-religeous radicals are now using similar methods to promote a worldwide catastrophe which will make "World War Two" look like a Quaker picnic. |

Meridian (64.12.116.5) -- Saturday, September 9 2006, 04:12 pm This poem requires critical thinking and that's good. A poem that requires me to sit down and sip a piece of coffee while energizing these brain cells. A reminder for all of us. Nice poem Bipedalguy! |
Bipedalguy (4.156.51.110) -- Tuesday, September 12 2006, 12:26 pm Thanks for the kind comment. I wrote that one at least 10 years ago. I'm afraid that yesterday, 9/11, leaves no need for additional reminders. I haven't written anything new for a month. I've been digging-up and repairing my rotted kitchen and dinette floors and reframing 2 rotted doorways. I've been looking away from those things for 25 years. I finally faced it. Keep writing. |
MC (70.88.11.52) -- Friday, September 15 2006, 08:37 pm People are fools to tolerate what is going on, not just in our country, but throughout the world. I fear for the future, especially for my children and theirs. |
Bipedalguy (4.156.51.44) -- Sunday, September 17 2006, 12:56 pm Speaking of your children, is your son home yet from his Army deployment? My best to you and to your son. Thank him for me. I remember coming home 40 years ago. It was a happy day for me. |
MC (150.176.200.253) -- Monday, September 18 2006, 07:17 pm Thank you for asking. He came back to the States last Friday, and I will get to see him in a few weeks when he has his leave. Thank you for YOUR service, and I'm glad you came home too! |
Renee Berke (66.153.101.45) -- Friday, July 25 2008, 04:23 pm Cuts to the heart, especially from one who was born of the faith. |
Bipedalguy (65.96.237.196) -- Saturday, July 26 2008, 02:14 am I had almost forgotten this one when I wrote "Human Hatred" which is longer, but has a similar message. |
shiloh (74.65.121.49) -- Saturday, July 26 2008, 04:58 am I know i keep bugging you about it, but somewhere in between those rotted doorways and floorways (like that?) you simply must start your book (right, everyone? he should put his stuff between two covers, and we'd all buy it!). peace, my friend... your words are a broadside for all of us. |
Bipedalguy (65.96.237.196) -- Sunday, July 27 2008, 04:04 am I'm working on a story which I should post soon. I think I shall title it "Bipedalguy's Midnight Bike Ride" It's a little different from most of my work, so I have no idea how well it'll go over. Bipe |
