Serpent's Trail
18 September, 2006
Author: Emma-Louise
This demonic serpent is growing within me,
Drowning my true voice, drowning my plea.
I’m spitting out words I’d never bear to repeat,
This snake is coiling itself around my heart, restricting it’s beat.
This monster has spread it’s infection deep within,
Now I’m possessed by my fears and insecurities, living in sin.
My eyes glaze over as the hurt takes control,
I am pouring from the cracks of my tortured soul.
There’s a dark cloud above me and all it does is rain,
It strikes itself within me, causing more unbearable pain.
I desperately try to block the surrealism I feel,
But this punishment I endure, I’ve never been able to conceal.
Now I’m bleeding from the inside without a single scream,
Sleep is now a torture for I see death in my dreams.
My wings are broken, this pain still exists..
I’m pushing my fingernails into my tightly clenched fists.
Perhaps I’m losing myself.
------- Author's Notes -------
I'm getting back into writing now. This poem has nothing to do with how I feel, I feel like the happiest girl in the world right now. It's just I'm obsessed with everything emotional and so I love writing dark poetry like this. |
