The Golden Rule
20 September, 2006
Author: Barbara Goodhew
If you want help,
give help.
If you want kindness,
give kindness.
If you want to be treated fairly,
treat others fairly.
To me this is what the golden rule,
"Do unto others as you will like done to you "
meant in my kind of speaking.

MC (70.88.11.52) -- Wednesday, September 20 2006, 08:55 pm how something so simple and self evident, can be so misunderstood. I once read a bumper sticker that said, "Do unto others.....and run". Unfortunately, I think a LOT of people do just that. Great advice, Barb. Love the succinct way you say things. |
barb (67.58.202.111) -- Wednesday, September 20 2006, 10:25 pm I was told when younger don't pussy foot around things say what you mean, no more or less only make your point, so when I write I guess I apply that advice . Thanks again MC |
Capricorn (82.36.228.32) -- Friday, September 22 2006, 06:00 pm This is great thinking -- they do say you will get back what you give to others. If we want to be treated nicely, then its up to us to be nice to others. Great read |
barb (67.58.203.122) -- Friday, September 22 2006, 10:24 pm Some people wonder how did I get a scooter, Meals on wheels and a homemaker. I just asked nicely, I didn't demand things. |
