Origin Of The Kiss

Before the fall of Eden,
And the sin committed there,
God often walked with Adam,
And with Eve, his lady fair.

The two had many questions,
And the Lord answered each one.
He named each star in heaven,
As He did the moon and sun.

But they ran out of questions,
About things their eyes could see;
For they sought other answers,
So they made one final plea.

They begged the Lord to tell them,
Why their hearts did not feel whole.
Why could they touch the body,
If they could not touch the soul?

The Lord said: “There is a way,
You might share that kind of bliss,
Two souls can touch each other,
When there’s true love in a kiss.”

“You will share the other’s breath,
And feel light as a feather.
Your two souls will be as one,
As your lips come together.”

“This will be my gift to you,
Throughout the generations.
Every time a kiss is shared,
With perfect veneration.”

“True love will be the keeper,
Of the covenant we share.
And anyone who finds it,
Will also find me there.”

It’s been that way ever since,
There’s no greater love than this.
God gave us His covenant,
And we sealed it with a kiss.

Thank goodness for the origin of Mark

Thank goodness for the origin of Mark Spencer to inspire us greatly with his truly original and creative points of view! This piece reminds me of something that I would write in 'four lines'
