Autumn Afternoons
26 September, 2006
Author: Catyrose
Autumn mist taps ever so lightly against the window pane
Leaves, swirling in spiral fashion on yet another blustery day
Descending with a ceremonious air to earth’s once barren floor
Creating a kaleidoscope of color for our feet to tread upon
A fresh clean scent pervades the afternoon air
Willing us to breathe in nature’s splendor
To venture out, beyond our front door
Enjoying simple pleasures
The season now avails
Bare feet at ease beneath nature’s own fallen feathers
Spring up and waltz about
Twirl round and round in fall’s invigorating breeze
Running free, releasing caution to the wind
Climb to the top of the highest hill
Rest upon earth’s fragile cushion
Rolling down, down upon Mother Nature’s fallen blanket
Stretched across her hallowed floor
Smiles burst forth, laughter echoes through the crisp clean air
Creating memories only we two can share
