Night Of Magical Happenings
30 September, 2006
Author: Miztrebor
In the still dark night
I hear a sound.
A wondrous song is being sung.
This being, from a maiden nearby,
Whispering sweet verses to the wind.
The verses are carried
To my ears intent on silence,
But destined for beauty.
With no reason or care,
I am drifted off to a distant shore:
A nighttime gleam on the sand,
And a salty mist in the air.
Not alone am I,
But a songstress by my side.
On a rock I listen,
As the story unfolds:
Long ago off the coastal shore,
A boat sailed off to collect it's catch.
Upon taking in the net,
It happened to be fairly heavy.
No ordinary dolphin was on the deck,
But a maiden of the sea.
Backed slowly they did,
As fin turned to wing,
And shrank to be like leaves.
She flying off into the blue moonset afar.
This amazing story told not with words,
But sounds of magic,
Enchanted verse.
Finally, realized to me,
Was the origin of the story.
As fin turned to wing,
And shrank to be like leaves.
Silently, she flying off into the blue moonset afar.
