Amongst The Flames
3 October, 2006
Author: Catyrose
Sitting alone by the fireside in solitary confinement
Tossing scraps of paper into the barren hearth
Dreams scrawled across once blank pages
Sparks ignite giving rise to an all consuming flame
Pools of tears rising
Long since submerged
Flowing down crimson colored cheeks
Warmed only by the closeness of the embers as they glow
No longer a need for pretense
Emotions set free
Embracing feelings long forgotten
Regaining a quiet sense of mastery
Taking blank slate in hand
Penning new hopes and dreams
Gliding pen across paper
The words shape and form
Rising in the shadows of the fireside flame
A tiny spark of hope
Ever so slowly
Ignites once again
