As If

You go on about your everyday business as if I do not exist
You go on about your conversations leaving the essence of me behind
You go on about your daily chores and I go own with my healing
You go on about your way and I go own with my feelings
I go about the efforts of making myself better as if I never met you
I go about the nights as if I never drempt you
I go about the years back and forth from then to now
I go about life ready to take my final bow
Everyone dreams of power, money and might
Everyone dreams of flying machines, bright lights of Vegas, and of being out of sight
Out of sight and out of mind
I am running out of time
Hoping in my earnest waking hours to see a perfected sign
You go about your crippled past
You go about your hope
You go about the memories
You go about and mope
I linger about my dreams
I linger about the future
I linger about the pond
I linger about for sure
