Another Year Older
23 October, 2006
author: Rebecca Ditch-Hammack (aka Dreamer)
Every Year I write my poem
Of birthday woes and vent
This years poem is different
It's happy and content
I guess it proves that everything
Changes with enough time
Whether it be day or years
This year happiness was mine
It wasn't the presents I received
Though the ones I got were plenty
It wasn't the food or festive airs
This birthday wasn't that ranty
It was 'cause my mother came
And visited with love
We shared a good time, missed in the past
It's a feeling, that I now speak of
It was the time that was spent
Just for me, this day shared
All the years of loneliness forgot
In just one weekend filled with love and care
