Tall Girl With A Gimpy Dog
24 September, 2003
Author: Angel Laney
I'm a tall girl
with a little gimpy dog
We rule our own world
In this town of fog
If you ask us to come and play
"What took so long?" we would say
Lovin' life with laughter and pride
We take each day with a calm cool stride
People say, "Well, what a sight!"
"That tall blonde girl with a limping dog by her side"
They smile and wave where ever we go
The children they stop, to say "Hello!"

Ben Laney (64.172.131.159) -- Saturday, September 27 2003, 07:58 am You are a Poetic Angel, Angel. I Love this poem more with each reading of it, and I have read it many times! In very few words you have painted a picture, expressed emotion, and told a story with truth. And, even more, you did it with humor! You have revealed yourself AND your little gimpy dog with your own poetic style. You have shared your own world. You have a God given gift That is evident in this work. This poem sings, it rings and it has wings. This is writing you can be proud of and thankful for. And just as surely as our Grand Creator made the heavens and the earth a Tall Girl With A Gimpy Dog will be deep in my heart for all eternity! Again, I REALLY, TRULY LOVE this poem! I am sooooo PROUD and HAPPY you shared it!! I will be looking forward to reading more of your work! Keep writing!!! Love, Dad |
