The Curtain Falls
26 October, 2006
Author: Marion Carroll
Candleglow within your eyes,
the light of love enflames.
The whispered feathers of your touch:
a sough that speaks my name.
My lightening kiss illuminates
your thundering embrace.
With eyes wide shut, your flotsom heart
is mirrored in my face.
On winged prayers, you rose and fell
into my hollow grave.
Oh, Phoenix, rise! Death be denied,
in ashes, we'll engrave
hope
which lies on my low-burnt fire,
and quivers not in faith.
The threads of evermore entwine
and bind our twin heartache.
What happened while your back was turned?
Did prescient vision cloud?
Preponderant evidence suggests
pathos was aroused.
In furtive torment we did slake
the demons of despair.
The shale of pain has crumbled
from conjugal repair.
You tampered with my gamine soul
and left your silken stains.....
The curtain falls in denouement
yet the memory
remains.

Rick Ryckman (71.97.12.178) -- Thursday, October 26 2006, 05:20 am I am just truly blow away. I read this beautiful creation. As I only have had a limited education. I must admit I had to go to the dictionary. For I had not seen words written like ---- [ flotsam or sough ]! I will always take the time to look them up. Because they will always enrich my mind. For the meaning will bring music to my soul. After finding out what the meaning of the words were. I went back and re:read your lines three times. And each time I enjoyed it more and more. I will wrap this night with the lines I have read. For its memory will remain. |
Bipedalguy (4.156.129.164) -- Thursday, October 26 2006, 10:33 am You've really done it this time. Beautiful wording, though I still have to look up a couple words. For now, that just adds to the mystery. Fantastic, awesome, far out and groovy. (Did I just say groovy?) To express it better: It's resplendent in it's profundity, yet elegant in it's clarity. Keep it coming. You're a great writer. |

MC (152.163.100.5) -- Saturday, November 11 2006, 04:07 am You not only SAID "groovy", I think you meant it! LOL I always start singing that little ditty of a song by Simon and Garfunkel, whenever I hear that word! (Slow down, you move too fast...you got to make the morning last, just..... kickin down the cobblestones....looking for fun and feeling......GROOVY) Thank you for your nice comment.
