Butcher's From The Looks Of Things
28 October, 2006
Author: Scurrd
I wanna feel like I’m the only
One you hate with everything you are
I wanna feel like you still love me
Then feel your hand as you strike me quickly
Soothing smoothly my words have kept you here
But I’ve been gone for nearly a year
So let those tears fall
Waiting for my call
Through all of this
I’ll hold your face in my hands
And kiss you like only a lover can
Watch those old lines float by
I’ve missed you
Kiss me like you used too
I still need you
They meant nothing to me
We’re lying through our teeth
But it’s not over yet
Soothing smoothly your words have kept me here
I’ve spent nights trying to fight
What I don’t want to be right
It’s in the way that you twist my heart
I’m following you into the dark
I’m turning away
Loving the hate in what you say
Watch those old lines float by
I’ve missed you
Kiss me like you used too
I still need you
They meant nothing to me
We’re lying through our teeth
But it’s not over yet
The break of dawn’s
Fixing these wrongs
Like chalk cleaned off
From a useless lesson
And like children
We act like
We did right
And it’s what we wanted from the start
