I Am So Exhausted
28 October, 2006
Author: Rick Ryckman
Oh!
I am so extremely tired this morning.
Just to lie down and go to sleep.
What would I give?
If I could only get some rest.
Dearly beloved ---
we are gathered here to mourn this man that has been laid to rest.
From my slumber I was awakened, and found out it was I.
I shouted --- and screamed.
''I am alive!'' --- ''I am alive!''
They kept saying the words over me.
To no avail --- could I convince them.
It was rest I wanted --- or was it.
