I Cannot Remember The Calm
2 November, 2006
Author: Rick Ryckman
Blinded by the dark ---- sightless and alone.
The black dogs of hell are leaping from the core.
Nothing can escape their treachery.
They taste the scent of my fear.
In a riotous rush the battle begins.
Ruthlessly the demons blaze forward.
Blistered and bleeding from the jagged journey.
The war has left savaged ruins.
With its trail of terror and anguish left behind.
In my stagnation I am furiously roaming.
There are no hollow places in the quicksand.
In a deserted place the scaffold stands.
The hangman waits with a death song.
