I Am Still Standing
8 November, 2006
Author: Rick Ryckman
The black express rolls in unmarked.
The darkness returns dragging fear again.
Obsessive shadows cannot be disguised.
The menacing time is at hand.
Silence breaks and the battle roar begins.
My passageway is swallowed from my sight.
I must fight the warriors in my jungle.
I will cherish my wounds that are unrelenting.
In my unresolved solitude there is no escape.
