Let Me Out
14 November, 2006
Author: Rick Ryckman
The snowflakes of my life have turned into an avalanche.
The blanket of darkness in a diabolical swarm covers the summit of my mind.
The wilderness of my mind awakens.
Blockaded in my cave; I search for a flame.
On this very icy day my body shattered like glass.
The winter's sun is powerless beneath the dark, and snow.
My footprints have rolled along until they crystallize in their tracks.
As the winds gather force until they vanish.
