Same Time Tommorow?
17 November, 2006
Author: Ben Franklin
He sits in the early morning café,
Hands in his head
Wondering what the day’s sunrise will
Bring him today
“Hey mate you gonna order something?
If not be on you way!”
He walks out onto the rain covered ground,
He feels he is in the lost
And has yet to be found
The wind pierces his chapped lips
As he walks towards the park that has yet to
Open its gates,
He still has 15minuites till it opens
So he sits on the damp pavement and waits
Workers pass him with looks of disgust,
“Why they look at me that way I don’t know,
I’m a good man
Those people are the ones you could not trust.”
Stan the caretaker opens the park gates
And welcomes him into his sanctuary for the day,
He heads to his usual spot to contemplate
His ways
He speaks quietly to himself,
“I just wanna be loved for once
In my life,
I don’t need material possessions and wealth.
I have my emotions
And many faces I have fronted,
I’m just a scared man with demons that I have not
Confronted.
I often believe that tomorrow will bring a new day
And that my life will be lead in a new way”
Before he knew it
The gates were being closed and it was time to
Leave,
"Same time tomorrow Scott?"
"Stan, I truly hope not."

Having someone to talk to who doesn't mouth off lol Helped me . I mean God in case you were wondering. I tell him everything knowing I won't get a lecture from him.I have peace and contentment now since I have something to believe in. A really good write for ones that feel lost.thanks |

Meridian (205.188.117.65) -- Friday, November 17 2006, 07:19 pm Ben! I'm about to do a cartwheel just for seeing your name among the recent writings' list. This poem sounded spiritual. It is very thought provoking. And it's very similar to a stage play or a playwright... Ben, you hire any actors for the parts yet? Outstanding Ben! 5 stars! |
