Slinking And Sinking
24 September, 2003
Author: Angel Laney
Slinking and sinking
Thinking and drinking
Getting' lost among anxious thought,
Like a small, wide-eyed child
Needing love, eager to be taught
Born both innocent, and wild
I came into this relentless world,
Unable to avoid failure
My blessed, foreign emotions are uncontrollable,
Leaving me cold, stale, and awaiting a beautiful savior.
I was drug down a scary dirt road
And now that I've reached the crossroads,
I don't know which way to go.
I used to believe that I would soar through life,
But I feel frozen and sick inside.
My hugest fear is myself,
And somehow I've become locked in my own personal hell.
How do you tell someone that you're scared of you own mind?
I've learned to distract myself and push all my bad thoughts far behind.
I'm scared to be here, anywhere, I hate to feel weird.
I'm tired of standing' still,
Tortured by a reality all too real.

Dad (67.24.39.216) -- Friday, October 3 2003, 07:37 am This is a good one about inner feelings, Angel! You are telling so much and with originality. I relate to this poem, too, and these emotions. It is a joy to see your writing alive and growing! I think you've touched on something universal here that many souls can connect with. You have a very fresh expression that is truly poetic! Thank you!! ***Dad |
