The pain of love is hard to bear
When the one you adore doesn't care.
You gave to him your ultimate love
Under that pale yellow moon up above.

When he said he'd love you til the day he died,
Tears of joy were hard to hide.
When he kissed you good night you felt elated,
But, that was the only time you dated.

When he meets you on the street
He smiles and treats you oh, so sweet.
I guess there's nothing you can do
When the one you love does not love you.

But maybe if you hope and pray,
He might come back to you some day.
