Nightfall
22 November, 2006
Author: Rick Ryckman
The blackness comes eating away at the light.
Trapped in the silence lingering with the shadows of memory.
My night is placing its poisonous thorns.
Grief and sorrow hang on my dungeon walls.
The thick darkness of despair rears its ugly head.
There is no shelter from the hard rain.
My heart is flushed with pain.
In my prison there is no sanctuary.
The reaper staggers and falters but dances oh so well.
