The Indestructable Foe

Hush my darling,
Go to sleep.
It’s your soul I desire.
To destroy and keep.

I see the innocence in your face.
I see your fear.
I see your bright eyes
As you try and shed a tear.

I’m closer to the gate.
You’ve locked it you naughty girl!
Ahh, but I have the key.
No need to worry
This won’t hurt, it’s only me!

No it won’t hurt,
It will just give you unbearable pain.
Haunting you,
over and over again.

I know you’re afraid.
Like a timid little mouse.
You can’t squeak nor scream.
Shh, quiet a moment.
Someone’s in the house.

Don’t make a noise,
Nor the littlest sound.
I’ll hide for a moment
So I don’t get found.

I’m in luck my dear.
I bet you thought I went away.
Ahh, but that’s where you’re wrong,
Because I am here to stay.

Stay still my child,
While I insert the key.
The key to your mind and heart.
Hold your hands out
While you slowly fall apart.

Knowing you are suffering
Sends me on a high.
Oh my little girl, are you in a coma?
Or are you about to die?

I know what’s going around in your head.
You can’t yell for help.
Maybe you’re already dead.

But you know you’re alive.
Trying to hide your hurt,
Because you know it’s your tear I thrive.

I hear your heart pumping,
Occasionally missing a beat.
I see goose bumps,
From your head to your feet.

It’s time to go, but not forever.
We’ve experienced something darling.
Something together.

I’ll be back.
That’s something you know.
I’ll be in your dreams and nightmares.
I am indestructible,
I am your life time foe.
