My Prayer
8 December, 2006
Author: T'Lonna Robbins
I remember
When i would lay in my bed
I would wait for you
To come kiss my head
Then you'd turn out the light
And shut the door
I found myself every night
Knelt down on the floor
Id say
Dear Lord
I know you can hear me
Watch over mama
I don't want her to leave
I need her here to stay
To keep me and warm
Make sure that shes happy
So i don't see her pain anymore
I'm always gonna be her little girl
I want it to stay that way
Let her know i love her
Love a mothers daughter
I remember
On those long road trips
Id look at the stars
And id look at you and think
No we'll never be apart
Then i turn to the clouds
Fading in the dark
I never said it out loud
But i said it in my heart
Id say
Dear Lord
I know you're listening to me
Watch over mama
Help her to break free
She needs to go spread her wings
And fly into the sky
Please send one of your angels
To help her get by
I cant do it on my own
I try and try over again
Help me not let go
Let her know i'm with her
Love her only daughter
