Returned Than Gone
10 December, 2006
Author: Rick Ryckman
The night is like magic from another world where the stars flicker.
Weeping within ---- from so many yesterdays.
Where loneliness sits in waiting.
Like an island of rage!
Turning ---- turning ---- as they play the fine harps of my mind.
Wartime in hell ---- where there is no paradise.
Having been down too many times ---- from the scars of years gone by.
Step by step as time falls within a rainbow of fading tears.
As I flee past my youth.
I ran so fast ---- reached so far and high to touch my star.
I am here in my silence.
You held my life in your hands ---- and let it go.
Go slowly ---- for the vexations of aggression will fade the stardust in my eyes.
I walk around in dreams that bring uncontrollable tears to my eyes.
Above all others you belong in my arms ---- where I am safe.
Was it all a dream to be able to touch you in the morning?
