A Christmas Story
18 December, 2006
Author: Catyrose
Tonight we gather as one
A family, we three
Hanging our keepsake ornaments
Upon the tiny tree
Crisp red bows
Twinkling lights
Candy canes galore
The scent of sugar cookies floating through the air
Chocolate cooking on the stove
Tended with such care
A little girl with eyes so bright
Climbs upon my knee
Asking for a story of what Christmas means to me
On a night so very long ago
A little baby was born
For you and Mommy and Me
To teach us how to live and love
In peace and harmony
Three wise men following a star
Came across this baby boy, snuggling in his mommy’s arms
They knelt beside his bed of straw
Lying presents at his feet
Christmas was his birthday
So today we celebrate
By giving presents to those we love
We remember the Christ child
Who smiles down at you, Mommy and me
From the heavens, so high above
