The Heart In The Tree
31 December, 2006
Author: Robert
My true love stands beside the tree
Where she first gave her hand to me
We carved our names and said a prayer
That evening in the moonlit air
Now many years have drifted bye
The twinkle still is in our eye
And my true love, she still loves me
The hearts' grown higher in the tree
The swing still hangs beneath the tree
Where she first pledged her love to me
Our little ones have come and gone
Their memory still lingers on
The tree is old and so are we
The hearts' as high as it could be
