I'm His For The Taking
3 January, 2007
Author: Marion Carroll
My lover has such sweet persistance,
based upon primal insistance.
His need is so great,
I don't hesitate,
and submit with the least of resistance.
------- Author's Notes -------
This is my attempt at a limerick. I don't think I ever wrote one before, but Bipedalguy keeps writing them and this came to mind. |

Meridian (71.253.214.225) -- Thursday, January 4 2007, 05:37 am This is good MC. You sound as though you've writen one before even though you say you haven't. Very good choice of words. Gon' head MC! Nice write. Bipedalguy's writings are contagious aren't they? They sort of rub off on a poet. LOL. |
Bipedalguy (4.156.108.205) -- Thursday, January 4 2007, 06:52 am This is certainly a great Limerick. I have only read about 3 of the Limerick rules. It appears that most Limericks accent the final syllable in each line, but it's clear that this one works perfectly with NEXT TO THE FINAL syllable accented in lines 1,2, and 5. They are perfectly matched, and I'm sure that if I had read more of the rules, this variation would have been provided for. I agree with Meridian. This reads like it's your most recent of many Limericks. Great job, M.C. |
MC (68.35.198.43) -- Thursday, January 4 2007, 10:27 pm this is my first limerick. It's not hard to get the cadence of it, just somewhat difficult to get the words to come out right. Thanks to both of you for your comments, and yes, Meridian, Don's writings are contageous! I so enjoy reading all of the work here when I can. |
