You Know I'm Not Too Fat

So I'm bigger around than I'm tall.
Do you think I care much, if at all?
What's inside is what counts.
I need not loose an ounce.
In my heart, I'm the bell of the ball.

Did you detect the subtle trace of arrogance in the line, "Do you think I care much, if at all?" from the woman "bell of the ball" who narrates the Limerick? The line in "Author's Notes" "And can she cook!!" would be the words of her husband, who probably has a few extra pounds himself. I'm glad he likes her cooking. |
