Melting Ice
12 January, 2007
Author: Pondering Red
Early morning ice
hides the clear downtown view -
giving new twists and dimensions
to the usual panorama.
Some pale yellow light
leaks onto the frosty formations
and adds an icy warmth.
I drink my coffees -
do the chores
with high energy,
yet slowly and mindfully.
You turn around on the bed
in your small room.
I wonder how and when
the separation will be.
Be here now and enjoy this
different view.
There will be new
perspectives
taking shape every moment
and day after day
into nightime dreams.
It snows outside.
Some fears melt away.
I watch the snowflakes
wildly shooting around
the moving branches.
I think about
life without you
as the ice keeps
ever so slowly
melting away......
