Holding Our Angel
12 January, 2007
Author: Marty Henry
On that day the telephone rang. It was our daughter Amanda Jo.
Having her first baby it’s time to go.
Her mom and I 20 miles from town, hitting hwy 30 around 90 bound.
Not leaving any grass to grow.
We made it to the birthing room with time to spare.
Holding our daughters hands! As she pushed and bared,
Another blue eyed angel, only a treasure from heaven we shall share.
No more climbing the highest mountains.
Nor diving in the deepest seas!
No more searching ends of rainbows.
Our bucket is full of treasure and gold.
Thank God for this angel we hold.
She was given her Grandma’s middle name.
Miranda Kay with a y. you should of seen those tears in your Grandma’s eyes.
May all the buckets in this world be filled with this treasure and gold!
Many more angels for us to hold!
No more climbing the highest mountains.
Nor diving in the deepest seas!
No more searching ends of rainbows.
Our bucket is full of treasure and gold.
Thank God for this angel we hold.
As I watch you and your Grandma lay there asleep.
A painting from God! priceless master piece.
This reminds me of your momma 20 yrs ago.
You’re the perfect picture from head to toe
Another blue eyed angel for all to hold.
You were given your Grandma’s middle name.
You should of seen those tears run down her face.
Now the yrs will pass on by, echo’s of your laughter’s and your cries.
Just remember where ever you may go.
If you fall, we won’t leave the grass to grow, ninety miles an hour on down that road.
No more climbing the highest mountains
Nor diving in the deepest seas!
No more searching ends of rainbows.
Our bucket is full of treasure and gold
Thank God for this angel we hold.

They are definitely angels, gifts God has given us. Thanks for sharing such a heartfelt poem. Look forward to reading more of your poetry. |
