A Poetic Depiction Of A Hospital
19 January, 2007
Author: Scurrd
In this emergency room
The highest hopes in the world are held
So I stand outside
In a Hallway painted white
Where greatest fears
Have turned back to only joyous tears
Though equally enough
Reality has collided with a nightmare or two
Despondent sons and daughters
Mothers and Fathers
Sisters and Brothers
Have shared an apathetic smile or two
In the wake of a few words
Life Savers or Hell Raisers
The man in scrubs has a power
Over the family, friends
Lovers and believers in a few prayers,
The silence is a tension
Like people in a basement waiting for a hurricane to strike
They stay
Frozen in the comfort of their place
Hoping not for an implosion of chaotic emotions
Their worlds could fall apart
Their lives, to a stop
Their loves, forever lost
7 seconds of silence become
A year of gut wrenching refuge in the fear to lose
He speaks
They listen
Their ending will keep you guessing
Long after this moment
