Mom's Song
24 January, 2007
Author: T'Lonna Robbins
Laying in that hospital bed
Started bringing tears to my eyes
I saw the expression upon her face
And all the pain she tried to hide
I don't think she saw him that way
Anytime before that
I wouldn't know what to say
That man in the bed was her dad
It's funny when you think
You can be strong
You stand up real stiff
So it seems like nothings wrong
You try to act alright
When you know whats going down
It's hard not to cry
When your dad's in the hospital gown
I wish I knew what to tell her
I wish i knew what to say
But I myself's just a young girl
I don't know what difference it would make
I've been through this once before
I know how she feels
I wish i could comfort her
Cause what i went through was real
If something bad happened to him
She always has someone to talk to
Her younger sis can be her friend
And I'll be here waiting for you
You don't have to be alone
I wont let you be
I'd be happy to talk to you
Cause the same thing happened to me
