From Me To Boston

Oh, I miss you "Bawstin"
I miss the city lights
I miss the "T", and often
I even miss traffic delights
OF "CAWSE", I miss you Fenway
And all the "BAHS" nearby
Two thousand "foah"
Was the best "yeeah" of my life
I miss the one way streets
Even miss the "rotahries"
When I "ordah" icecream "hea"
I want "jimmies"
AND THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT I MEAN!!
I miss my daily Dunkies
NOW I DON'T HAVE ONE AROUND!!!
OH, I miss you "Bawstin"
My good ol' sweet home town
I miss First night, and "Hahvid squeah"
The Christmas tree lighting, and Victorian "feah"
I miss driving to New "Hampshah"
To save 10 bucks on tax
You can definately count on it,
OH YES, I'M COMING BACK!!!
I miss Kowloons and Kellys
I miss "root" one and the 9's
I miss hearing the accent
I GET MADE FUN OF ALL THE TIME!!!
People at work are like, "SAY IT SAY IT"
And I know just what they mean
Yes, "I Pahk the cah in havid yahd"
Oh my "Gawd", I wish I could just SCREAM!!!
Oh, I miss you "Bawstin"
My good ol' sweet home scene!!!!!!
------- Author's Notes -------
I never thought I would EVER be 900 miles from Massachusetts, but HERE I AM!!! Accent and all! lol The people I work with have me SO confused about the difference between what a ROOT a ROUTE (not pronouced the same) and a RUT is... let me explain..... I always thought, the highways and bottems of trees were ROOTS, but apparenty here, the highways are ROUTES, and the trees have ROOTS, and ROOTBEER, is apparently pronounced RUTBEER.... lol the conversation I had about ROOT ROUTE AND RUT with my co'workers inspired me to MISS THE HECK OUTTA GOOD OL BAWSTIN!!!!!!!!!! I just didn't understand.. lol So I turned to my coworkers and asked them why they park in a driveway and drive on a parkway............ need-less-to-say... ;-) I left them speechless! |
