The moon opens the darkness
Stars creep out behind
Cold crisp air blows
The silence through my mind
I search the sky
With a deep breath in
And get caught in another place in time
One full year, no regrets, no tears
I've set foot on ground alone
I don't know how I did it
But it's done, I'm on my own
Another beat up wooden door
Reminds me of the days back home
I sit up in bed and wonder
If your heart was made of stone
I didn't want to leave
But there was nothing more that I could do
I tried to help the best I could
Then it was time to live for me

explaining the search
Good write on finding ourselves.Sometimes to find what we are,we have to live our own way, not having to try and help others find their life.Your write it makes me think. thanks

it's funny how one day, somehow, something just slaps ya in the face, and makes you realize that it's time to make things change.. a year ago, that happend to me. i still wish sometimes i could have made a difference at home with my family.. and actually live happily there.. and oh lord, do i ever miss my sister like crazy.. but i pray for them everyday, and hopefully .... things 'll work out for the better

This change you did helped you realize how much you love and miss your sister.and someday you'll be close to your family.It will just take time.Keep writing and using your talent.
