Agenda Of The Tide
22 February, 2007
Author: Bryon D Howell
You came and went just like the rolling tide.
You filled my world and everything was right.
You gave me love, my love, but then you lied -
the waves which fell came from the shores of spite.
I floated magically upon my ship.
I’d never known such depths upon this sea.
Had no idea your tide would turn and rip -
no harbor near to save and shelter me.
When you first came upon sweet ocean air -
my waters never knew such life and peace.
Of course, you had a motive to be here -
I should have known your waves would crash, then cease.
You came and went just like the tide must do -
and I was just another port for you.
