No Man’s Victory

The Towers fell,
They were no more.
This set the stage to go to war.

A mother’s son, a father’s boy
Playing with a favorite toy.
All too soon becomes a man
Goes off to war in a distant land.

He’s taught to fight and kill that we,
Can help to set their people free.
He’ll take a life, and never forget
How sad he was, filled with regret.

How many more must sadly die
Our troops or theirs, I know not why.
If it’s God’s will, then let it be
But no man can win this victory.

My heart cries out,
How can this be?
Our leadership is blinded
By their piety.

In Agreement

Without jumping on my soapbox, I'll simply say I agree wholeheartedly with the words you have written here. Very well written. Very powerful statment, and sadly this is a no-win situation.

Hi Robert

A very powerful message here. True words.

No Man's Victory

I think the title says it all. Our hearts are good. We keep wanting to do the right thing...
But what is the right thing?
