It's Spring
14 March, 2007
author: Rebecca Ditch-Hammack (aka Dreamer)
It's beginning to look like spring
The flowers beginning to raise their sleepy little heads
The trees show the signs of the new leaves soon to unwrap
Like the cocoons of butterflies spreading their wings
The birds and squirrels are starting to give chase
As the warmth brings on the frolicking of their matings
Songs fill the air as birds sing their finest
The flood waters crest and start to subside
Children on bicycles peddle past
The nearby skateboard park is full of activity
People are walking that have been sitting all winter
As the bulky coats come off in exchange for light jackets
New puppies from the winter season are going on first walks
As older dogs yearn to go outside to laze the day away
Hammering is heard from the new outdoor remodeling projects
Breathing in the damp earth as it dries from the winter weather
Watching the sun turn the brown world to a world of color
Ah yes, its beginning to look like spring
