Nobody's Fool by Tammy

What is happening in this world
when we have friends we know longer know?
People hurting people, and
a future with no hope.

I remember there was a time
when a friend was there til the end.
Now they seem to slash your heart
and some scars just don't mend.

When is it time to give up
and let them keep making their mistakes?
Let them run their own lives down
let it be their risk to take.

Why keep caring for someone
who doesn't care at all?
And when they only need you
is when they slip or fall.

It only seems they come around
when truly they are in need.
They are there beside you
when it's their soul wanting to feed.

They take so much from you
taking all your love,
But no more can you take
the pushing has come to shove.

I throw my hands up
I'm tired of being used.
No more knocking me around
for I am nobody's fool.

I feel like you
When folks take your kindness for weakness year after year, somewhere along the way...it may be 5 years, 10 years, or even 20 years before you finally snap and say enough is enough...

People that use us
Nice write Tammy..I think we have all had peoople like this in our lives to one degree or another.. It's hard to let go but if we don't sever the ties we can drown with them...

enough is enough
Good write Tammy,yes its frustating but don't stop caring or helping just be more aware.We all need somebody that still cares and helps in this life.Don't become one of them .keep sharing and giving.Watch out the kind of people you help out tho. Great subject and good point.
