Chastity
15 March, 2007
Author: Mark Spencer
Chastity preserves a gift,
Of unlimited worth.
One that you can only give
To one soul on this earth.
A prize so rarely given
To whom our love is pledged.
For chastity is traded,
For love only alleged.
The scars left by its passing,
Can never be repaired.
For treasures lose their value,
When frivolously shared.
If true love is ever found,
A bond like no other,
You cannot share what long ago
Was lost to another.
Don’t forget what it is worth,
Or waste it hastily.
Choose wisely with whom you share
The gift of chastity.

barb (67.58.205.176) -- Thursday, March 15 2007, 04:36 am It's hard to save a gift for someone special when that gift was stolen. You feel bad but you have nothing special to give. Some lose their gift to a person that just stole it for their own selfishness. |
Catyrose (128.123.85.206) -- Thursday, March 15 2007, 07:56 am I just had a conversation with a good friend of mine who is very concerned about her teenage daughter in regard to this topic. Anna (99.177.217.217) -- Friday, February 13 2015, 03:12 am this poem is very well written, however this is not chastity. you do not give chastity to someone, but you share chastity and encourage others to be chaste. Just some advice because I got in trouble with my teacher because of it. |
