Cain

Author: Mark Spencer
To know if Adam & Eve
Were actually the first,
Look into the eyes of Cain,
And see how he was cursed.
The Lord banished Adam’s heir,
Into the land of Nod,
To keep him safe in that place,
He wore a mark from God.
Cain feared he would lose his life,
In that land to the east.
Though Adam’s only other son,
Was already deceased.
God needed to mark Cain’s brow;
To warn all other men.
Science says Neanderthal,
Still walked the earth back then.
If Cain bore no resemblance,
Could he fit in somehow?
To look like Neanderthal,
The Lord must change Cain’s brow.
In understanding scripture,
This may help to explain,
The questions still surrounding
The mystery of Cain.
